With the use of this reactor chamber (flow cell), the LSP-600 ultrasonic system can be configured in the flow-through mode, which typically outperforms the batch mode in terms of processing capacity, ultrasonic exposure uniformity and temperature stability.

During flow-through ultrasonic processing, the use of the reactor chamber ensures that all of the treated liquid is directed through the active cavitation zone created by the incorporated FBH-type Barbell Horn®, resulting in homogeneous processing. The chamber includes a water-cooling jacket that helps maintain the temperature of the liquid at the desired level.

LSP-600 Ultrasonic Processors Unbox & Assembly Instructions (Flow-Through Mode):

Lead time to shipping: 1 week.

  • Material: 316 stainless steel
  • Internal volume: 35 ml
  • Chamber-to-horn attachment fitting with 1.5" sanitary clamp included
  • Two 1/2" sanitary clamp-to-1/2" hose barb adapters with gaskets and clamps (for main liquid line) included
  • Support arm with counter nut included
  • Two 3/16" hose barb cooling jacket fittings (for cooling water line) included

Q1. How can I cool the liquid I am processing?

The temperature of the processed liquid can be precisely controlled by passing chilled water through the reactor chamber’s cooling jacket. Cold tap water at a low flow rate can be used for this purpose if a suitable chiller is not available.

Q2. What type of hoses do I need for the main liquid inlet/outlet and for the cooling lines of the reactor chamber?

You will need 1/2" ID hoses for the main liquid line. Connect the hoses to the 1/2" sanitary clamp-to-1/2" hose barb adapters (included), which should be attached to the reactor chamber's inlet (typically, bottom) and outlet (typically, top right) using the corresponding gaskets and clamps (included).

You will need 3/16" ID hoses for the cooling line. Connected the hoses to the 3/16" inlet (bottom) and outlet (top) hose barb fittings.

Use appropriate hose clamps to secure all hoses to the corresponding hose barbs.

Q3. Can I use this reactor chamber (flow cell) with my 21 mm-tip FBH horn which I previously purchased for batch-mode processing?

Yes. This reactor chamber is designed to be used with the same 21 mm-tip FBH-type Barbell Horn® as the one supplied for batch-mode processing.

Q4. Can I use this reactor chamber with one of your other systems (BSP-1200 or ISP-3000)?

No. This reactor chamber is designed to work with the LSP-600 ultrasonic processor only.
