The SWCT-3600 water-cooled piezoelectric transducer is designed to work with the ISP-3600 ultrasonic processor. Ultrasonic transducers are devices used to convert electric energy coming from an ultrasonic generator into mechanical energy in the form of ultrasonic vibrations. The ISP-3600 transducer has the power rating of 3,600 W, can operate continuously and is sealed to the outside environment, which makes it immune to high-humidity conditions and suitable for processing flammable materials, such as fuels and organic solvents. This device is compatible with all ISP-3600, BSP-1200 and LSP-600 ultrasonic horn types.

Lead time to shipping: 8 weeks.

  • Tip diameter: 38 mm
  • Amplitude: 24 microns (max.)
  • Frequency: 20 (+/- 1) kHz
  • Power: 3600 W (max.)

Q1. Do I always need to cool my ISP-3000 (SWCT-3000) water-cooled transducer?

Yes. The SWCT-3600 transducer must be cooled with water at all times. The water flow rate must be at least 5 L/min and its temperature must be below 15 C (59 F). Operating the unit without the cooling water may cause irreversible damage and is strictly prohibited.

Q2. Will the system turn off automatically if the transducer starts to overheat?

No. You must ensure the front mass (where it meets the horn) of the transducer used with the BSP- 1200 processor, does not reach the temperature of 54 C (130 F). You can do so by obtaining a chiller that supplies cooling water continuously at a consistent temperature.

Q3. Can I cool the transducer with some other liquid, such as a solvent, instead of water?

No. Do not use any solvents or flammable liquids to cool the transducer. Such liquids may destroy the cooling jacket’s seals and penetrate the internal area of the transducer, causing an electrical short and/or other irreversible damage to sensitive components.

Q4. Can I use the FBH horn for LSP-600 with the SWCT-1200 transducer?

Yes. You can use any of the LSP-600 horns (CH and FBH) with the BSP-1200 transducer and generator.
